Individual Music Therapy
Individual music therapy sessions are conducted one-on-one with the music therapist and the client. Based on the initial consultation and the information provided by the parents/carers, the Music Therapist will assess, plan and implement appropriate and intentional musical experiences to suit the client. These musical experiences will be based around the client/s individual goals and needs. These goals will be continually evaluated and adjusted where necessary, as the therapy process continues.
Group Music Therapy
Group music therapy sessions are conducted with the music therapist and 2-4 clients. These sessions involve tailored musical experiences to suit the clients, based around the group goals and needs. These goals will be continually evaluated and adjusted where necessary, as the therapy process continues. Due to the nature of group music making, social skills and communication skills are often some of the goal areas that will be explored in group sessions.
Supported Music Lessons
Supported music lessons are adapted and individualised instrumental lessons for children and/or adults with a disability. Music therapists are trained to have knowledge and an understanding of a variety of diagnoses, allowing them to adapt their lessons and teach the student using appropriate strategies. Supported music lessons are currently being offered for piano and voice.
Early Childhood Music Sessions
These sessions are currently on hold. But keep an eye out, as they will be back in the future!
